Insisting on Existing (2026) is an experimental installation by Analize Nicolini that reverses the organisation of a space of combat. A modular cement column becomes the structure against which the struggle is directed; the punching bag remains on the floor as its shadow; and the tatami mat ceases to function as a base and is instead suspended. In the boxing gloves fitted into small cement artefacts, cement reappears at a smaller scale as a constructed vestige of the struggle. The work was developed within the context of Insisting on Existing: Protocols of a Public Studio.
