An unrealized digital curatorial project on bodily autonomy, gendered violence, legitimacy and the politics of visibility.
YaYaYa / The Clitoris Museum was conceived in 2021 as a digital curatorial project, international open-call prototype and speculative museum platform addressing female genital mutilation through contemporary art, lens-based practices, moving image, digital media and activist visibility.
Originally developed under Ruth & PedrinaCULT, the project proposed an online exhibition, an international call for artists, a fundraising auction mechanism and the foundation of The Clitoris Museum as a counter-institutional space dedicated to bodily autonomy, pleasure, protection and narrative repair.
The project was not realized in its original public form. It is presented here as an archival record of a conceived curatorial platform and as part of Analize Nicolini’s broader research into bodies, visibility, legitimacy, gendered violence, digital circulation and the institutional conditions through which certain bodies, images and narratives are allowed to appear.
